Science Jam & Slam: Happy Birthday Hermann von Helmholtz

The mastermind Hermann von Helmholtz was not only a physicist and physician, but also a passionate musician. It is on the date of the International Tuesday on 31 August 2021 that the universal genius would have turned 200 years old. To mark the occasion, the University of Potsdam and the Hermann von Helmholtz Gymnasium Potsdam will show how natural science and music can be combined in a fascinating way.

Potsdam experimental physicists Prof. Dr. Reimund Gerhard, Dr. Oliver Henneberg and Dr. Gunnar Gidion will unravel sound, tone, and resonance. They will be musically accompanied by the President of the University of Potsdam, Prof. Oliver Günther, Ph. D. and students of the Helmholtz-Gymnasium.

Due to the current situation, the following safety and hygiene regulations apply:

A medical mask must be worn when entering and leaving the premises, when going to the bathrooms and also when standing in line for catering.

You must be recovered, vaccinated or tested in order to attend the event. Proof of this must be presented at the entrance.

Your contact details will be registered at the entrance for tracking purposes (Corona app, Luca app or handwritten). Your data will be deleted after 14 days.

Please keep your distance of at least 1.5 meters throughout the entire event area. At the seating area, this distance is reduced to 1 meter (2 free seats) between different parties.

Das Superhirn Hermann von Helmholtz war nicht nur Physiker und Arzt, sondern auch ein leidenschaftlicher Musiker. Am International Tuesday am 31. August 2021 wäre das Universalgenie 200 Jahre alt geworden. Aus diesem Anlass zeigen die Universität Potsdam und das Hermann-von-Helmholtz-Gymnasium Potsdam, wie sich Naturwissenschaft und Musik sehr reizvoll miteinander verbinden lassen.

Die Potsdamer Experimentalphysiker Prof. Dr. Reimund Gerhard, Dr. Oliver Henneberg und Dr. Gunnar Gidion enträtseln Klang, Ton und Resonanz. Dafür werden sie musikalisch begleitet vom Präsidenten der Universität Potsdam, Prof. Oliver Günther, Ph. D., und den Schüler*innen des Helmholtz-Gymnasiums.

Eintritt frei / Um einen freiwilligen Austritt wird gebeten.

Aufgrund der aktuellen Situation gelten folgende Sicherheits- und Hygienebestimmungen:

Beim Betreten und Verlassen des Geländes, beim Aufsuchen der Toiletten und auch beim Anstehen für die Gastronomie muss eine medizinische Maske getragen werden.

Es gilt die „3G-Regel“: An der Veranstaltung kann nur teilnehmen, wer genesen, geimpft oder getestet ist. Ein entsprechender Nachweis ist beim Einlass zu erbringen.

Am Einlass werden Ihre Kontaktdaten zum Zwecke der Nachverfolgung aufgenommen (Corona-App, Luca-App oder handschriftlich). Ihre Daten werden nach 14 Tagen wieder gelöscht.

Im gesamten Veranstaltungsbereich gilt eine Abstandsregel von 1,5 Metern. Am Sitzplatz reduziert sich dieser Abstand auf 1 Meter (2 freie Plätze) zwischen den Infektionsgemeinschaften.
