Concert for friendship: Heimatsounds & Chor International Potsdam | Admission: free

After a successful launch, International Tuesday will take place on June 28 with an international choir event at Inselbühne Potsdam.

The intercultural music ensembles „Chor International Potsdam“ and „Heimatsounds“ come together for the second time for a joint concert. Both ensembles will sing songs from all over the world for peace, friendship, love and for connection between us humans.

The organizing team around the culture worker Christian Leonhardt and choir director Eugen Zigutkin says: „With pleasure we would like to make the feeling of home possible also with this concert for Neu-Potsdamer*innen.“

Ukrainian singers have also been rehearsing with „Heimatsounds“ since the end of may.
Friendship and solidarity with Ukrainian people is the theme of the evening. All voluntary entrance fees will benefit an Ukrainian choir or music project. Heimatsounds would like to establish a direct music partnership with Ukraine.
The musicians actively support the organization Vostok-SOS: https://vostok-sos.org/en/

The concert starts at 6 pm and will be followed by a get-together of artists, organizers and guests.

Heimatsounds
Since 2016, the intercultural music project Heimatsounds has been a place for everyone to meet and make friends at Waschhaus Potsdam.  Every Monday evening, Heimatsounds make music, sing, play and dance to songs from different home countries. Heimatsounds regularly take their musical enthusiasm out onto the streets and places of the city of Potsdam, performing at city festivals, at the Refugees‘ Club of the Hans Otto Theater, and at the Begegnungscafé Babelsberg. In addition, the project deals with multicultural identities and, in cooperation with schools, artistically and intellectually with the topic of home.

Chor International Potsdam (CIP)
The name of the choir is program. The community is correspondingly colorful: young and old, international, multicultural, modern and classical. The choir wants to offer a musical home for old and new Potsdamers. The songs come from all over the world and are mostly sung in their original languages. The enthusiasm for music and the love of diversity is what unites the choir.
