Science Jam & Slam: Tolerance and cultural diversity in science

“Tolerance and cultural diversity in science”

Science Slam and Jam invites you to briefly dive into the topic of tolerance and cultural diversity in science. Songs that tell stories, interviews with senior and junior scientists of the Alfred Wegener Institute and the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies e.V. Potsdam.

Prof. Dr. Mark Lawrence, Scientific Director of the Institute for Transformative Sustainability Research (IASS), Prof. Dr. Bernhard Diekmann, Head of Alfred Wegener Institute Potsdam, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI), as well as Dr. Katrin Müller and M.Sc. Philip Meister, researchers at AWI, share their experiences musically and in exchange with the audience.

Science thrives in open-minded environments – in places that foster our curiosity of the unknown and encourage a free and impartial exchange of ideas and people across nations, cultures, religions, and ethnicities. The closed society is the antithesis of science.

Saxophone, accordion, guitar, banjo, bass, vocals and well-known songs – Je vieux, Imagine, Academia, Ain’t no Sunshine, Yellow Taxi, etc., invite you to sing along and jam together. Bring your questions and percussion instruments!

Free admission / We kindly ask for donations.

Saxophon, Akkordeon, Gitarre, Banjo, Bass, Gesang und bekannte Lieder – Je vieux, Imagine, Academia, Ain’t no Sunshine, Yellow Taxi, usw. – laden zum Mitsingen und gemeinsamen Jammen ein. Bringen Sie Ihre Fragen und Percussion-Instrumente mit!
